For the second time in four years, the Boston Red Sox are American League champions. And just as they did in 2004, the Red Sox rallied to clinch the pennant. Trailing 3 games to 1, Josh Beckett silenced the Cleveland Indians to bring the action back to Boston. Facing elimination for the second time, Curt Schilling and J.D. Drew turned in clutch performances to tie the series. In Game 7, the offense exploded in the late innings (led by Dustin Pedroia’s five RBI) to advance the Red Sox to the World Series.
