Final Game At Shea Stadium Ticket Frame Jr - Mets
On September 28, 2008, Shea Stadium hosted its final Mets game and the franchise rolled out an emotional post-game ceremony that included a "Who's Who's" of former players. From Bud Harrelson to Jerry Koosman to Keith Hernandez, Mets players from every era took one final walk from center field to home plate.
Doc Gooden and Darryl Strawberry shared one last on-field moment and received a thunderous applause. Yogi Berra, Ron Darling, and Howard Johnson also got loud roars. And, of course, the 1969 and 1986 World Champion teams were well represented.
But it was Tom Seaver and Mike Piazza, who truly took center stage. The duo shared in a final pitch, closed the outfield gates, and waved goodbye on 44 years of baseball at Shea Stadium.
