On April 16, 2009, Ichiro Suzuki registered professional base hit No. 3,086 to become Japan's all-time hit king. Ichiro broke the record set by Isao Harimoto who was on hand for the historic moment. Back in 1995, Harimoto predicted that Ichiro would some day break his record.
During his nine seasons with Orix of Japan's Pacific League, Ichiro had 1,278 hits. Since joining the Seattle Mariners in 2001, a year in which he won American League Rookie of the Year and MVP honors, he has added another 1,808 hits to establish the record. This Mega Ticket commemorates the occasion, is perfect for autographs, and makes a great gift.
