The St. Louis Cardinals, led by Ducky Medwick and Dizzy Dean, defeated the Detroit Tigers in seven games. The victory marked the second World Series title for the Cardinals and the first for a group of players that would become forever known as the Gas House Gang.
The 1934 World Series is also remembered for two unique moments: Dizzy Dean being carried off the field during Game 4 after being hit in the head by a thrown ball while serving as a pinch runner and Medwick being pelted with garbage by fans after a hard slide into 3rd base in Game 7. Fearing for Medwick’s safety, Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis was forced to remove him from the game.
This 1934 World Series Mini-Mega Ticket commemorates the occasion, is perfect for autographs, and makes a great gift.
