The 1929 Chicago Cubs, managed by Hall of Famer Joe McCarthy, won 98 games and captured the National League pennant. The team also featured four Hall-of-Fame players in outfielders Kiki Cuyler and Hack Wilson, catcher Gabby Hartnett, and 2B Rogers Hornsby. Wilson and Hornsby both hit 39 home runs in 1929 and combined to drive in 308 runs.
