For the past 10 years, the Dave Matthews Band has been one of America's most successful artists. Formed in 1991, the DMB quickly took off with its first major release on RCA, 1994's Under the Table and Dreaming. By the time the band began recording its second studio album, Crash, which was released in 1996, its first effort went platinum four times (4 million sold). Crash, too, quickly went multi-platinum and the band secured its place as a major recording act.
But the Dave Matthews Band's real draw was, and remains today, its live performances. From teenagers to college students to thirtysomethings, DMB concerts pull fans of all ages from all over the country thanks to marathon sets and high-energy jazz-infused jams.
