Eric Staal of the Carolina Hurricanes earned MVP honors as he registered two goals as well as an assist on the Bruins Marc Savard’s game-winning goal with just 20 seconds to play. Alexander Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals, who thrilled the Philips Arena crowd during the SuperSkills competition, also scored twice for the winners. The Western Conference was led by Rick Nash of the Columbus Blue Jackets who notched a hat trick.
